Settler Grazing: A New Mean of Ethnic Cleansing in the West Bank

Overview

The Israeli occupation army continues its large-scale military campaign of killing, repression, and abuse against residents of the northern occupied West Bank. Known as "The Iron Wall," this campaign has resulted in the killing of dozens of Palestinians, the demolition of hundreds of homes, and the displacement of tens of thousands. At the same time, the military administration in the West Bank is issuing new military orders that further deepen the policy of ethnic cleansing. These measures aim to empty Palestinian land of its inhabitants, preparing it for annexation into Israeli settlements and advancing the occupation’s full annexation plan.

Occupation forces and their so-called "law enforcement" agencies actively collude with escalating settler terror attacks. At times, they remain silent; at other times, they participate openly. In this context, settlers—backed by occupation forces—seized 1,520 sheep belonging to Palestinian farmers in the town of Al-Auja, north of Jericho, on the evening of Friday, March 7, 2025. This seizure marked a significant escalation in the number of livestock targeted in a single night.
